BEYOND THE LOOKS

Beyond The Look is a 3-day workshop on modelling and its aim is to train and groom aspiring male and female models…

This is an interview with the director of Dabigal media house on the big event coming up in Olabisi Onabanjo University. <<Cllick here>> for details

Your name?

 My name is hope odabi

Can you please tell our audience about the big event coming up in OOU.. “beyond the looks”?

Beyond The Look is a 3-day workshop on modelling and its aim is to train and groom aspiring male and female models, this is being organised by dabigalmedia House and we will be going to different schools to train and empower youths through this process, our first stop is olabisi onabanjo university.

Ok.. after the whole workshop, is there going to be anything like certificate for the applicants who will be entering the modelling industry, do you have any plan to guide them in their early days in the industry ??

Oh yes there is going to be certificate presentation to all participant and we have photography and modelling agencies sponsoring this training and the best students will be picked to work under them

And they will also work top run way shows in the country

Wow.. That is a big plan for them

I know some people might be bothered about how well they should trust this initiative because even I myself have witnessed a case like that that at the end of the day, the applicants regretted paying. How can you convince the interested candidates that this is real?

My portfolio should/ is convincing enough, lol, I have been in the modelling agency For 3 to 4 years now, I have worked with most beautiful face in Nigeria 2016 as Ogun state coordinator and also will be working for them in 2017,God keep us alive,  I worked and still working with Dominion Agency which is also one of our sponsors, I was a co-organiser of campus queen oou, I was part of miss tourism Ogun team, I worked for Mr university Africa,I’m a pageant agent, a publicist and a promoter. With the little I have mentioned, I don’t think I’m a novice and by God's grace we are working on attaining greater height and becoming a house hold name

I know many people would love to become models but there is this wrong perception about the industry and the practitioners, like they have to indulge in immoral acts as this is somehow part of the job.. What can you say about this?

I believe every job has its hazard and every sector faces the same issue but it depends on individual principles. ..

Sure.. But from the experience you have gathered, can you please put it straight to the audience having that kind of impression that they are wrong?

This Is the only way I will put it, the just concluded Nigeria Next Super Model was won by a 16 years old girl, that’s to show that right now the sector is searching for dedicated minds and hard working individuals. So what I will say to aspiring models is work hard to attain your dream and the right people will buy into it

After this opportunity you have brought to OOU.. Should OOU still expect more from you?

Of course they already know..

Ok.. What about other schools, which school should be expecting this kind of opportunity next?

We are still working on the list, but Lagos should get ready

 Thanks for your time
